Bmw 116
This will be BMW's most fuel efficient and least polluting vehicle. The 116 will be placed below the 118d, which was named the World Green Car of the Year back in March 2008. The 116 shows some impressive figures, a combined consumption of 64.2mpg (53.4 U.S.) and a CO2 emissions figure of 118g/km.Although Americans rely on hybrids to squeeze every last mile out of a tank of fuel, Europeans have historically resorted to diesel. It's hard saying which is better, but if the Germans keep cranking out brilliant diesels like they have been lately, they might well start changing minds stateside. With 116 horsepower and 192 lb-ft of torque, the 166d runs from 0-62 in 10.2 seconds -- nothing exhilarating, but right on par with Hybrids and other high-mileage models available in the U.S. Unlike the Prius and other boring-to-drive transportation devices however, this fuel-sipping 1-Series is still a Bimmer, and handles as such. You can at least have some fun on the local backroads before or after saving some gas on your commute.
